Medinipur or Midnapore is a one of the oldest city and a municipality in the West Bengal state. The city is situated on the banks of the Kangsabati River. Midnapore was one of the centre of revolutionary activities during the British Raj. The Kali Temple in Nutan bazaar is very popular here.
